Families and individuals are encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills to enhance their quality of life.
OUR HISTORY
The Collie Family Centre has a long history of providing support to the Collie community. Established in 1991 (and originally known as the Collie Family Support and resource Group), the Collie Family Centre had a mission of addressing domestic violence and other social issues. Over the years our mission and goals have evolved and broadened (and continue to evolve in line with community needs).
OUR SERVICES
Counselling and Mental Health Advocacy
We provide professional, free counselling services to the Collie community. Our counselling services are delivered by a team of qualified social workers and psychologists who are prepared to deal with a broad array of social and mental health issues. In addition to counselling, we also act as an advocate for strategies that improve mental health wellbeing and awareness in the community.
Community Programs and Social Groups
A big part of what we do involves the delivery of various community-based programs and the hosting of social groups. These activities reduce social isolation, allow people to create new connections and provide the opportunity for people to learn and share new skills.
Referrals and Individual Support
We provide support to individuals by linking them with third party services including financial support services, housing support services, specialist counselling services and other general support services.
Building Community Networks
The Collie Family Centre works collaboratively with other non-profits, business, and Government to build community networks, work towards community development, and create partnerships.
Collie Community House
The Collie Family Centre is located at Collie Community House alongside Anglicare WA and the WA Country Health Service Child Health Clinic. We are responsible for the management of this facility which is used by many other services to provide community outreach.
